ROPES Educational Exchange Programs

The ROPES Education Program addresses the lack of opportunities for Israeli, Palestinian, and MENA region students to meet, study together, and engage with one another’s narratives.
This gap perpetuates misunderstanding, mistrust, and fragmented knowledge of regional histories and current affairs. ROPES seeks to change that by fostering long-term foundations for peace and cooperation through academic exchange. Through 8- to 10-day immersive seminars held in MENA or EU countries, ROPES brings together students from across the region.

Alumni Reflections

  • “Bringing Palestinians and Israelis together, especially during such tense times, is a huge achievement. It creates space for dialogue, understanding, and connection — something often missing in the conflict. These programs remind us that most people on both sides want peace; only a small minority fuels violence.“

  • "Faith is not the main reason for the conflict as I used to believe; faith can be a bridge between two or more different parties. Morocco’s coexistence is a great example of how to approach the conflict with non-violent means."

  • “The fact that I am staying in touch with people from the region and we all connected with each other. If we can achieve this on a small scale, it surely must be possible on a larger scale.“

  • "The most influential lesson is the constant reminder that I should leave my comfort zone and be as engaged as possible in connecting, communicating, and embracing the power of hearing and dialogue."

  • "Radical Listening! This concept reinforced the importance of truly hearing others without judgment, creating space for meaningful conversations, and fostering deeper understanding between people with different viewpoints."

  • "The program reinforced what I already believe—that peace is something we practice in our daily lives. It didn’t necessarily change my perspective, but it reaffirmed the idea that meaningful connections and mutual understanding are possible when people engage with openness and respect."

  • “…after a week seeing people from different religious backgrounds and politically challenging realities co-living, opening up to one another and dancing together in a city of tolerance and peace, I have felt proud to be human in these times and assist such pictures and being part of it. In those moments, and in the city of Essaouira, I believed to my core that everything will be okey, even when the world seems to have lost its humanity.”

  • “By fostering empathy and breaking down stereotypes, such initiatives plant seeds for a future of coexistence. While lasting peace requires broader efforts, programs like this are a critical step forward. They prove that change is possible, offering hope for Israelis, Palestinians, and the wider MENA region.”
