Journalism Program

In 2024, ROPES implemented two landmark Media Programs for Female MENA journalists, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. These programs, held in May and November 2024, were specifically designed for female media professionals. Each cohort consisted of 15 participants from Israel, the Palestinian territories, and various MENA countries, totaling 30 journalists for the year.

The curriculum focused on the practice of peace journalism and provided critical training in the combat against fake news and disinformation, equipping journalists with the tools to navigate polarized environments and maintain factual integrity during times of conflict.

Building on this success, ROPES is currently developing a new series of programs for journalists and media creators that address the emerging challenges of the digital age. These upcoming initiatives will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on honest reporting and the ethical dilemmas posed by generative technologies.

Additionally, the training will cover the complexities of foreign intervention and the mechanics of influence campaigns, ensuring that media professionals are prepared to safeguard public discourse against sophisticated digital manipulation and strategic disinformation.
