ALL EYES ON THE WEST BANK: We Refuse to Turn a Blind Eye

By ROPES Team

It has been a week since the brutal attack on The Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine in the West Bank. The world reacted with shock and demanded immediate answers, but the outcome remains all too familiar: while some suspects were detained, most have already been released.

We must remind the international community that this incident was not unique. It is a glimpse into the daily reality for Palestinians across the West Bank, where families face assault, intimidation, property destruction, and robbery on a routine basis. Too often, it takes the targeting of a Western journalist or foreign representative to spark outrage, while the everyday suffering of our Palestinian neighbors, colleagues, and friends becomes background noise.

At ROPES, we refuse to accept this pattern of selective attention or impunity. Palestinian lives and security deserve the same urgency, protection, and accountability, regardless of who the victims are. Peace cannot be built on indifference, and justice cannot be conditional.

ALL EYES ON THE WEST BANK. THE VIOLENCE MUST STOP!
